A Premature Preview of BYU Basketball’s 2024–2025 Season
In a Big 12 that produced eight teams that advanced to the NCAA Tournament, the Cougars came in fifth.
However, as we approach the 2024–25 season, the task at hand will be figuring out how to get farther in the Big Dance.

These days, it’s dangerous to look at a college basketball team’s roster in advance. This sport will inevitably undergo change.
The goal of BYU head coach Mark Pope is to keep the present players in the program and return them for the 2024–25 campaign.
There will always be a place for the [transfer] site in our operations, according to Pope. “But keeping our guys is our top priority when it comes to assembling our roster for next year.”
The coaching carousel is still in motion, and the transfer site is available until May 1. The NBA draft deadline is also approaching, which BYU is, for once, keeping an eye on.

In the NCAA Tournament defeat to Duquesne, BYU guard Jaxson Robinson played the best game of his two years with the Cougars. In addition to his silky jump shot from beyond the arc, Robinson demonstrated his ability to physically attack the rim and scored 25 points off the bench.
