Tyreek Hill wasn’t necessary for Tua Tagovailoa to win games, as he demonstrated. There are some who believe differently than Miami Dolphins wide receiver, who has complete faith in his quarterback.A crushing blow was inflicted on the Dolphins prior to their game against the New York Jets at Hard Rock Stadium. They revealed their All-Pro receiver will miss the game just before kickoff. With Hill out of the lineup, Tagovailoa would have to step up to take center stage.
The good news is that Raheem Mostert, the veteran running back who is having the best season of his career, was healthy and prepared to go alongside Jaylen Waddle to support their quarterback. They faced the New York Jets, a team in desperate need of a win the previous week.
Miami got things going right away as Mostert scored his 17th touchdown on the ground. Then, in the second quarter, Tua connected with Waddle on a fantastic 60-yard dime after he had already completed 11 passes for 66 yards. The 24-year-old was rapidly demonstrating to opponents that he is still capable of throwing a pass that splits defenses and that Hill need not be the recipient.
The Miami Dolphins are one step closer to the postseason thanks to Tua Tagovailoa.
The Dolphins did not miss Hill’s 97 receptions for 1,542 yards and 12 touchdowns in the first 13 games. The Jets, who lost quarterback Zach Wilson to a head injury, were easily defeated by Mike McDaniel’s squad.
In his place, veteran Trevor Siemian threw two picks rather than controlling the damage. Miami was shut out 30-0 at the end of the game. It was the first NFL game in which neither the Broncos nor the Jets scored a single point since September 2021.
Tua Tagovailoa’s 21-of-24 passing for 224 yards and one touchdown was a big factor in the victory. The Pro Bowler asserted that it was a team effort during the news conference held following the game.
It is a sport played in teams. When #10 [Tyreek Hill] was warming up, I went outside. I approached him and said, “Dude, we got you, brother, if you can’t go.” It is a sport played in teams. It will require all of us. That’s what transpired out there; we had a lot of other players on the squad that we trusted and believed in.
Even if this one outcome might not alter Cam Newton’s viewpoint, Tua Tagovailoa’s ardent supporters are aware that they can rely on him in critical situations. McDaniel’s squad is now 10-4 on the year and has a shot in the postseason after defeating the Jets.
