Despite Stephen Curry’s poor shooting performance in his past two games, Steve Kerr, the head coach of the Golden State Warriors, is unconcerned.
Kerr made a harsh remark regarding Curry following the Warriors’ loss to the Miami Heat last night.
Regarding Curry, Kerr remarked, “It wasn’t his night.” “Guys will have some difficult nights and periods throughout the 82-game season. Definitely not concerned about Steph.
During his last two games against the Denver Nuggets and Heat, Curry has averaged 15.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 4.5 assists. He is only making 27.8% of his field goals, 23.8% of his three-pointers, and 85.7% of his free throws.
The Warriors’ season record is just 15-16. They currently don’t appear to be a playoff team and are ranked 11th in the Western Conference.
For the Warriors this season, Curry is averaging 27.4 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 4.4 assists while shooting 45.8% overall, 41.0% from three, and 93.0% from the foul line. It’s likely that the two-time MVP will overcome his shooting slump as quickly as possible.
That the Warriors to pull together and go on a tear is not a given, though. The only squad member averaging at least 20.0 points per game is Curry. The Warriors rank 19th in defense and ninth in scoring in the NBA. Their net rating of +0.8 puts them in 15th place in the league.
The majority of league observers think a trade by the Warriors is necessary. If Golden State’s front staff chooses to make roster changes, only time will tell.
