As we approach Week 14, it appears as though the 49ers have already won the Super Bowl. They appear to have a clear road to winning their sixth Lombardi Trophy after just demolishing the Eagles.
But that will take months. The 49ers’ first opponent is the Seahawks, a team they recently defeated on Thanksgiving, so they know they can defeat them.
This week, will the 49ers experience an emotional letdown?
Columnist and former 49ers Insider Lowell Cohn remarked, “It’s possible.” “You noticed their fervor for Philadelphia. When they entered the stadium and attempted to scare the Eagles, they were dressed in their black outfits. That is not what they are going to do to the Seahawks. They were so more eager for that match. It still baffles me that they dropped three games in a row earlier in the season. They were definitely not prepared for those games, though. After blowing out the Cowboys, they believed they had proven their point. They might not be as enthusiastic about this game as they were about the Eagles, therefore.
After taking a mental vacation for three weeks following their previous major victory over the Cowboys, the 49ers lost three straight games. They had to recommit to taking the season one game at a time because, as they admitted, they were planning forward.
With their victory over the Eagles, they have now made an even more significant message. The general consensus is that the 49ers will thrash the Seahawks on Sunday. When everyone expects the 49ers to win big, that’s precisely when they play their worst. The 49ers perform at their peak when people are doubting them.
Which 49ers team will be present at Levi’s Stadium this week?
