When he was added to the Hurricanes on waivers in mid-January, Spencer Martin has impressed. Today, the organization revealed that they had signed the goaltender to a $775K one-year, one-way contract deal, as a reward for his hard work.

Given that Pyotr Kochetkov and Frederik Andersen have contracts through 2024–2025, that is probably going to be his duty for the upcoming season. Martin has chosen to remain in his current position for what will be his third consecutive season on a one-way contract rather than becoming an unrestricted free agency in July.
