Toronto Maple Leafs and Florida Panthers
Here at Full Press Hockey, we’re looking at what the Toronto Maple Leafs and Florida Panthers intend to do this off-season with their rosters of key players. Welcome to a brief edition of NHL Rumors.
The Toronto Maple Leafs Would Like to Retain Max Domi and Tyler Bertuzzi
TSN Hockey Insider When Pierre LeBrun spoke on SportsCenter with Jay Onrait, he was asked if Tyler Bertuzzi and Max Domi would both likely stay with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Jay Onrait: “Pierre for Treliving has other business, as you are aware. He would prefer to sign Tyler Bertuzzi and Max Domi, two pending unrestricted free agents. Are you able to sign one of them, or even both of them?
“I don’t think he can get both sign,” said Pierre LeBrun. It seems possible that he could obtain one sign. It seems sense that both of those guys are searching for multi-year contracts. They both accepted one-year contracts last year, after all. During the somewhat unusual summer of last year, many agents were observing the market and stating that it was the final pandemic flat cap situation.
Yes. And at last, the cap is increasing by 4 million this summer. Thus, not just those two players but many other talented players in the league accepted one-year contracts. However, that won’t happen again, at least not anytime soon, as the players’ representatives get their way. Brad Treliving stated that while he likes both players, he’s willing to speak with their camps in an effort to find a mutually beneficial match.
Read between the lines, you know. I believe that the Leafs would only go so far in either of those situations. Again, we’ll see where that ends up. Without a doubt, Brad Treliving would be attempting to see those agents here in Buffalo this week.
