REPORT:ESPN Analyst Rips Kenny Pickett for Not Wanting to Compete

Have the Penguins Finally Got It? Maximizing the Potential of Lars Eller Reilly Smith

Two years after being taken by the Steelers with the 20th overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, many in Pittsburgh and throughout Steelers Nation have a different perspective on Kenny Pickett’s resignation.

First of all, despite having a 13–13 touchdown–interception ratio and a 78.8 passer rating, Pickett never really clicked on the field. Durability was another problem. It was obvious that he wasn’t Dan Marino’s second coming.

Fans were taken aback by Pickett’s conceited demeanor, though. It’s clear that he wasn’t the ideal competitor and team player who was described as such. First, there were rumors that, during the previous season in Seattle, he had refused to dress as the team’s third quarterback. Pickett disputes it even now.

The signing of Russell Wilson followed. At that point, everything came to an abrupt stop. Pickett asked to be traded after objecting to the move. The dissatisfied Pickett was traded by the Steelers to the Philadelphia Eagles, who play across the state.

Over the past few days, a lot of people have criticized Pickett for his spoiled actions. When Pickett expressed the desire to leave Pittsburgh and go to a place where he could further his career, former wide receiver Nate Washington of the Pittsburgh Steelers referred to him as a “transfer portal baby.”

However, ESPN commentator Damien Woody, a former NFL offensive lineman, delivered the harshest criticism. He let loose with all of him on Pickett.
