With more net rest days than their opponents, the Baltimore Ravens enjoy exactly one lucky break from the NFL schedule makers. Apart from that, a devastating tsunami of challenging games will be faced consecutively by John Harbaugh and the rest of the team.
The Ravens have a season that begins on the road against the Kansas City Chiefs, a run of three games in ten days, and an astounding six stand-alone games. The Ravens themselves appear to be less than delighted with these facts, much like a lot of supporters.
The Ravens are reportedly unhappy with the hand they were dealt this season, particularly in regards to primetime games, according to Jonathan Jones of CBS Sports.
Jones points out that the Ravens have played 18 of their 22 Monday Night Football games away from home during the John Harbaugh era.
Baltimore is also irritated about receiving a late bye, making NFL history by playing three straight road games on Christmas Day, and having to travel to play three road games in October against the Bengals, Browns, and Buccaneers, three 2023 playoff teams. These are some solid reasons to be dissatisfied.
Quite difficult schedule for the Baltimore Ravens in 2024 upsets
The Ravens’ ridiculously tough start to the season should infuriate them just as much. The Ravens’ Week 3-5 schedule features a travel game against the Cowboys, a primetime clash with Josh Allen’s Bills, and a battle with Joe Burrow’s Bengals, in addition to their road matchup with Kansas City in Week 1.
The Ravens’ schedule for the upcoming season includes just five games versus losing teams, three of which are inter-divisional matchups with the AFC West. In the NFL, receiving a first-place schedule can be an extremely bittersweet gift, and the Ravens are currently experiencing that.
The road to an AFC title will be extremely tough, with Kansas City proving they can win a Super Bowl with a bunch of tomato cans at wide out, Burrow getting well again in Cincinnati, and the Jets assembling a strong team to celebrate Aaron Rodgers’ return.
Baltimore, at least, has a plenty of weapons on both sides of the ball to get through this difficult schedule. While Ravens supporters may not enjoy that their team must overcome a murderer’s row to earn the first seed, it’s also possible that other contenders are looking forward to playing the Ravens.
