Raven’s Justice Hill Agrees to $6 Million Contract Extension

In a significant move to strengthen their backfield, the Baltimore Ravens have secured the services of running back Justice Hill for the foreseeable future.

The team and Hill have agreed to a two-year contract extension worth $6 million, a deal that solidifies Hill’s role in Baltimore’s dynamic and run-heavy offense.

The extension is seen as a strategic decision by the Ravens, who have been known for building their offense around a strong running game. With Hill now locked in for two more seasons, Baltimore can rely on a versatile and explosive runner who has become an important part of their offensive scheme. The deal reportedly includes performance-based incentives that could push the total value of the contract higher, rewarding Hill for his continued development and contributions on the field.

Justice Hill was drafted by the Ravens in the fourth round of the 2019 NFL Draft out of Oklahoma State. Known for his speed and ability to break off big plays, Hill was seen as a potential change-of-pace back who could complement the Ravens’ power rushing attack led by the likes of Mark Ingram and later J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards.

However, Hill’s early years in the league were marked by limited opportunities, largely due to the presence of other established backs in the Ravens’ backfield. Despite this, Hill consistently made the most of his opportunities, showing flashes of his playmaking ability in both the rushing and passing game. He also carved out a critical role on special teams, proving his value to the team in multiple areas.

Unfortunately, his progress was interrupted by a devastating Achilles injury in 2021, which sidelined him for the entire season. Many questioned whether Hill would be able to regain his form following such a serious injury, but he made an impressive comeback in 2022, contributing both as a runner and a special teams ace.

In 2023, Justice Hill emerged as an integral part of the Ravens’ offense, stepping up in the absence of injured starters and displaying his full range of abilities. His quickness and elusiveness allowed him to provide a spark whenever he touched the ball, while his improved vision and decision-making made him a more consistent threat in the run game. Hill’s versatility also proved valuable in the passing game, where he became a reliable target out of the backfield.

The Ravens’ decision to offer Hill a contract extension is a testament to his resilience and hard work in overcoming adversity. The $6 million deal represents the team’s belief in Hill’s potential to be a key contributor moving forward, both as a runner and as a special teams leader.

For the Ravens, the Justice Hill extension is part of a larger effort to maintain continuity on offense, particularly in the run game. With quarterback Lamar Jackson leading a high-powered rushing attack, having reliable backs like Hill ensures the team can maintain its identity as one of the most dangerous running offenses in the league.

Hill’s speed, vision, and pass-catching ability add another dimension to Baltimore’s offense, giving them flexibility and the option to keep defenses guessing. As the Ravens look to compete for championships in the coming years, Justice Hill will be a key piece in their plans.

With this extension, both Hill and the Ravens can look forward to a promising future together, as they aim to build on their success and chase Super Bowl glory.
