The Baltimore Ravens have signed free agent running back Derrick Henry to join quarterback Lamar Jackson. This pairing is expected to enhance each other’s performance, easing the workload for both players.
Following a recent minicamp practice, Henry praised Jackson’s dual-threat capabilities, noting that his ability to make plays with both his legs and arm will keep defenses guessing. Henry expressed relief at not being the sole focus of defenses anymore, highlighting the excitement of working with Jackson.
“It definitely brings a different aspect, because [Lamar Jackson] is a dual-threat quarterback, and he’s [as] dangerous with his legs just [as much] as he is with his arm. It’s going to be fun and a breath of fresh air not being the center of attention, knowing that eyes are going to be on him, as well. But I’m just excited to get to work and put the work in out here and let it all come together, when it’s that time.”
Both players have earned respect from defenses throughout their careers. Now, with both on the same team, defenses will be challenged to focus on just one, potentially creating more opportunities for both as the season progresses.
