This season, the Dallas Stars have struggled in overtime games against the Golden Knights. They suffered a shootout loss in their first encounter with the Stars.
The Stars lost 2-1 last night as Jack Eichel won the game by grabbing his own rebound and putting it past Jake Oettinger.
The primary factor that prevented the Stars from winning last night was their offense. Going forward, something has to change, whether it’s the offensive strategy the Stars employ or a new line-up. This season, our offensive line is too strong for us to be down 2-1. These three lessons can be drawn from the Golden Knights’ defeat last night.

Among the things I observed last night was Vegas’s ability to once more block the Pavelski and Son line. After their successful season the previous year, I believe that many teams reviewed their tape this offseason and developed a strategy to shut them down.
The Stars must rethink their offensive strategy and start over from scratch. That might help them become relevant again this season when they play the NHL, in my opinion.

After the game last night, I feel awful for Jake Oettinger. He gave it everything he had to keep them in the game and have a chance to win. The team needs to score more goals in order to support their franchise goalie more effectively. He cannot be this team’s offensive and defensive leader for the entire campaign.
There must be other lines that are permitted to score goals besides Tyler Seguin’s. Oettinger’s job would be greatly simplified, and the Stars would be able to extend their lead in the Central Division.
Dallas Stars vs. Golden Knights of Vegas Review: 1. A nice buffer between the Colorado Avalanche and The Stars were fortunate to advance to overtime and earn a point this evening. The Colorado Avalanche are now two points behind the Stars in second place following their unexpected victory over the Vancouver Canucks.
I don’t want the Central Division to be decided in the last week while we reflect on our past possibilities. To defeat the Avalanche, the Stars must continue to win and extend their lead in points. Securing a point is good, but securing two is preferable. The Calgary Flames will be the Stars’ next opponent on Friday.
