Texas’s Frisco The NFL pays attention when players set new records; this is especially true when it comes to weekly awards.
The Cowboys have a record-breaking player who has been named player of the week once again. This time, it’s DaRon Bland, who set a record in the NFL by returning an interception for a touchdown four times in one season.
Last Sunday, he scored his fourth pick-six in Carolina. Bland has been selected the NFC Defensive Player of the Week as a result.
With this interception, Bland now has six for the year, sharing the NFL lead with Geno Stone of Baltimore.
Although it’s Bland’s first weekly honor, the Cowboys have won four of them this season.
CeeDee Lamb set an NFL record last week by recording three straight games with at least 10 catches and 150 receiving yards. For that week, he was named NFC Offensive Player of the Week.
The previous week, after breaking the NFL record for the most consecutive field goals made to start a career, kicker Brandon Aubrey was named NFC Special Teams Player of the Week. Aubrey has now kicked 21 times in a row.
Following the Cowboys’ victory over the Jets in Week 2, Micah Parsons was named NFC Defensive Player of the Week.
He had two sacks, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery that day, but he didn’t break any records.
