Gaetano Oristanio is an offensive midfielder for Inter Milan, and Cagliari wants him to stay in their lineup for the upcoming campaign.
Oristanio played on loan for Cagliari for the entirety of the previous season.
It’s also said that the loan offers a buyout option. Oristanio is available for a permanent signing with Cagliari for approximately €4 million.
Throughout the previous season, Oristanio consistently made appearances for Cagliari.
The twenty-one-year-old has played for Volendam in the Netherlands for the previous two seasons. After playing in the Eredivise in his second season, he had assisted the club in being promoted from the Eerste Divisie in his first.
Oristanio’s debut season in Serie A was this one. The attacking midfielder, who is owned by Inter, appeared to be on par with the best in the Italian league.
Claudio Ranieri, the now-departed Cagliari coach, used Oristanio in a variety of capacities.
Because of his versatility, the 21-year-old may play as a wide midfielder, a second striker, or even an offensive midfielder.
Throughout the Serie A season, Oristanio assisted one goal and scored two goals. In their first season back, he assisted Cagliari in staying safe in the top division.
According to a report from La Nuova Sardegna, Cagliari is now trying to hang onto Oristanio.
According to the publication, a meeting to discuss whether the Rossoblu can work out a deal with Inter to keep him is imminent.
This suggests that Cagliari is presumably aiming to avoid having to pay the entire release clause. Alternatively, they can be targeting another loan or another charge.
