It has been revealed that this year’s World Snooker Championship qualifications will not feature Stephen Hendry. The great has won a record-tying seven titles at the Crucible, but he has chosen to prioritize his TV responsibilities above trying for an eighth title to defeat Ronnie O’Sullivan.
Hendry has lost all five of his matches this season and is part of the tour thanks to a two-year invitational card he was awarded in 2022. However, because the Scot is not among the tournament’s top 16 seeds, he would have to contend with opponents like Neil Robertson, Jack Lisowski, and Hossein Vafaei in a very challenging qualifying round in order to advance to the main event.

It begins the day following the conclusion of the Tour Championship. I’ve spent the entire week working for TV, so it goes without saying that I haven’t had much opportunity to practice.
