After the Golden State Warriors’ loss to the Phoenix Suns, Stephen Curry delivered a forceful warning to his teammates.Curry, the lone Warriors player averaging more than 20.0 points per game, stated that improved play is required from the entire squad.
Curry declared, “Everyone is needed.” Everyone must perform to the standard that we demand. And we lose if it doesn’t take place. It’s not that complicated. That is our current situation. We must all play better as a team. We all need to play better individually. Additionally, be ready to adjust to whatever task, minute need, or cycle you are assigned. As a team, that will be our challenge.
The Warriors’ season record is just 10-13. According to the Western Conference standings, they are in 11th position. Curry is averaging 29.1 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 4.4 assists, but his supporting group hasn’t provided him with enough assistance.
Curry stated, “The outcomes are what they are.” And you have to acknowledge that in order for us to achieve where we want to go, things must change. We can definitely sense the urgency in our staff.
Curry is making 46.8% of his field goals, 42.2% of his three-pointers, and 93.6% of his free throws. But the Warriors great is giving up 3.4 turnovers each game on average. Going forward, he must improve his ball protection if Golden State is to break out of their slump.
In the 2023 Western Conference Semifinals, Curry and the Warriors fell short against LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers, losing in six games. In the offseason, Draymond Green inked a new deal with the Washington Wizards, and Jordan Poole was traded to them for Chris Paul. Within the team, the Warriors believed they would fight for the championship this year.
Curry is a fantastic player, but the Warriors haven’t even appeared to be a play-in team.
