In Week 15, the Dallas Cowboys will travel to play the Buffalo Bills.

Despite a recent 20-point victory over the Philadelphia Eagles, they are still regarded as underdogs, thus it won’t be an easy game. That’s presumably because the Bills are coming off a big victory in Kansa.

The Bills will lose both of these important defenders who are suffering with serious injuries—a stinger on one side and a rib injury on the other. In particular, Hyde’s absence will undoubtedly be significant on Sunday and improve the Cowboys’ chances of defeating the Bills.

Sean McDermott of WGR reports that A.J. Epenesa and Micah Hyde will not play against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday.

McDermott’s defense has always done a fantastic job of making the most of Jordan Poyer and Hyde, the excellent safety tandem. However, Taylor Rapp will start in the defensive backfield in Hyde’s absence, which is a big downgrade.

The Bills are also deficient in defensive backs, as evidenced by their heavy reliance on dime personnel groupings (six defensive backs) in recent games.

Put another way, the Cowboys might face a very slender and dispersed secondary on Sunday. That definitely portends difficulty for the formidable offense led by MVP front-runner Dak Prescott, which has often moved the ball downfield.

Regarding Epenesa, it’s an additional blow to an already battered defensive line. For the majority of the season, Von Miller has been injured and has only been able to play a limited number of snaps. With Epenesa sidelined against the Cowboys, that will have to change.

The pass rush of the Bills is mediocre at best and not among the best in the NFL. Prescott should have no trouble getting by in the pocket, giving him Sunday to cook.

Undoubtedly, the Cowboys gain from the most recent development about the Bills, even though injuries are a terrible thing. Having said that, Dallas may be without a few defensive starters of their own as FS Malik Hooker and DL Jonathan Hankins have not yet returned to practice.
