MUST READ: Bulls are reportedly “hesitant” and would find “painful” an Alex Caruso trade

The rumors surrounding Alex Caruso’s service are included in the trade noises that the Chicago Bulls are hearing. The franchise isn’t prepared to part with the veteran despite the large number of interested teams.

K.C. Johnson of NBC Sports claims that the Bulls are “hesitant” to sign Caruso to a contract. The franchise actually thinks highly of him as a fit and a great role model for the group.

“All I can say is that up until now, I’ve noticed they’ve been reluctant to do so. That obviously could change in the time between now and the deadline of February 8. Furthermore, Caruso is a perfect over-the-top piece for teams vying for championships, so there will probably be good offers for him. There’s also a scenario where Caruso might need to be included in order to trade LaVine. However, Caruso is arguably the biggest success story of this regime and the ideal representation of the culture the franchise wishes to promote. I can promise you that this management team would suffer if they traded him,” he continued.

The Gem of Chi-town

As one of the league’s top role players, Carushow distinguished himself with defense and leadership. With 9.8 points, 3.4 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and career-highs in field goal shooting (54.2%) and three-point shooting (47.8%) this season, he is putting up strong offensive numbers.

Many have argued that A.C. is the most sought-after trade asset by the Bulls because of his intangibles, which suit any team perfectly. His contract, which has a total value of over $19 million until the next season, is also very team-friendly.

Is trading Carushow still feasible?

Johnson noted that since the trade deadline is still far off, the Bulls’ plans and strategies could still change. The team must decide whether to keep competing or finally start the long-awaited rebuild, in which Caruso may be traded, based on how well they perform.

For now, Caruso’s versatility has also allowed Chicago to enjoy a three-game winning streak.
