The Buffalo Bills (7-6) take on the Dallas Cowboys (10-3) at home in Highmark Stadium to resume their regular season.
Topics and plots have been explored all week leading up to the match between these two untested, cross-conference opponents.
It all boils down to what happens on the field in the NFL, no matter what players, coaches, media, or fans have to say.
Additionally, there will be a few specific things to watch out for once the conflict starts.
Following that, here are six things to be aware of when the Bills and Cowboys play on Sunday:
Playoffs, of course
Another week, another game that leaves the Bills outside of the AFC playoff picture. Does the team feel any effects from such pressure?
With four games remaining, Buffalo’s team can only afford to lose this one. If they defeat Dallas, that would be enormous. But because the Cowboys are in the NFC, this is the one game the Bills can afford to lose in comparison to every other one they have left.
Still, just manage to win it. Sean McDermott, the head coach, needs to make sure his team stays focused on the goal and not the pressure.
A lot of scoring
The Cowboys score the most points in football—32.4 per game. Dallas may be the league’s hottest team.
The Bills are still there, as they have been for the previous few seasons. Buffalo’s PPG is 26.8. In the NFL, that ranks as the seventh most.
Fasten your seatbelt.
Get Stef going
In recent weeks, Stefon Diggs hasn’t been himself. The Bills’ top wide receiver was limited to four receptions and 24 yards last week against the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Cowboys have a strong defense to go along with their well-known offense. It might be crucial to get Diggs moving.
The turnover game
In relation to that, the Dallas defense and team perform admirably when it comes to forcing errors. At plus-10, they are tied for the second-best turnover differential in the NFL.
At plus-two, the Bills are up.. However, that can alter. The Cowboys are a unit that feeds off one another, therefore they thrive on defense.
Micah Parsons is a pass rusher who can make mistakes by pushing people. Gilmore, the former Bill Stephon, is also no slouch.
And the Bills offense will be facing a lot of excellent athletes this week—those are just two of them.
Josh in the run game
Since Joe Brady took over as offensive coordinator, quarterback Josh Allen’s carrying the ball has kept opposing teams on their toes. This is especially true following running back James Cook’s huge performance last week and the need for Diggs to step up.
Weeks 1 through 10 at OC, under Ken Dorsey’s direction, Allen made just two intended runs. According to Next Gen Stats, Brady has called several QB runs in each of the games he has called thus far.
It keeps an opponent guessing.
Von’s time?
Who would have guessed that one year from now, the Bills would be looking on Von Miller to step in for AJ Epenesa? We are in that situation.
Regardless, Buffalo will have its hands full defending Dallas. In Week 15, they most likely won’t have safety Micah Hyde (neck) and Epenesa (rib). so an already difficult task has become more difficult.
Epenesa has enjoyed a breakthrough year as a pass rusher. Miller’s recovery from a knee injury has not gone well.
Miller may need to be unleashed on Sunday in order to support Leonard Floyd, Ed Oliver, Greg Rousseau, and others.
