Although many believe that San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy is the front-runner for the NFL MVP award, other people don’t even think he is the most useful player on his own team. Some might point to 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey as their main inspiration.

Purdy gave the halfback his blessing after McCaffrey earlier in the week said he thought Purdy should win the league MVP award this year.
Purdy told reporters, “He does it all,” according to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk. He sort of sets the standard with the run game, and then when we do pass the ball, he’s there in our play, so I believe that’s why our pass game, our play-action pass, and all that kind of stuff opened up. He can go up against linebackers and safeties and make them miss, catch the ball, and do other things in the pass game. He then scores touchdowns after that. His numbers are absurd. Thus, he is unquestionably a valued player—perhaps the most valued player, in my opinion.
With 1,292 rushing yards through 14 games this season, McCaffrey leads the NFL.
