Mikal Bridges drove Atlanta to a career-best victory on the road, making the game-winning jumper.

When the Brooklyn Nets took on the Atlanta Hawks, Mikal Bridges was without a doubt the one member of the team who was the most enthusiastic and driven.

The Hawks and the Nets engaged in one of the most thrilling offensive contests of the 2023–24 NBA season on November 23. Bridges played a major role in this, scoring a career-high 45 points, but Trae Young spoilt his evening by leading Atlanta to a thrilling 147-145 victory with a game-winning 43-point shot.

Reentering the State Farm Arena on the same floor on Wednesday night, Bridges smelled blood and gave Brooklyn a payback. The rising star made sure he and the Nets would have the last laugh in a fiercely contested matchup by making the game-winning jump shot to seal the victory in regulation, 114-113.

Aside from the fact that he delivered a valiant effort that paid off, Bridges was ecstatic because their victory over the Hawks was his first against the team on the road.

Bridges, who finished with a game-high 32 points, needed to visit Atlanta for the seventh time in his regular season to accomplish this. After the final buzzer, he celebrated the win alongside Cam Johnson, who has also failed to defeat the Hawks.

Bridges exclaimed, “Oh my God, first win in Atlanta.” It took six years, that’s for sure. It took me a while to travel to the East, so I suppose that’s God’s way of telling me to come here at least twice a year instead of just once. I’m overjoyed to have this dub.

In the end, Bridges had nothing but praise for his teammates’ confidence in him to provide Brooklyn with the winning touch.

He simply lived in the present, not worrying. The Villanova product gave credit to his teammates for believing in him and helping them pull off the escape in yet another exciting Atlanta endgame for his clutch jumper.

“I believe that my teammates and coach gave me the courage to go out there and be that guy who makes plays and makes shots.” So, they deserve praise. You know when you feel like everyone around you is confident in you, you start to feel even more confident in yourself.
