One could have felt that the evil empire was back in full force this past offseason when the New York Yankees acquired star outfielder Juan Soto. With Soto and Aaron Judge together, the Yankees have a potent lineup. Soto has long been one of the finest players in the league. Though he is the epitome of baseball star power, at the end of the season he will become a free agency.
It all depends on the kind of contract that New York offers him, but they would really like to retain him in the Bronx for a very long period. This upcoming offseason, Soto is anticipated to seek a huge contract—possibly surpassing the $700 million that Los Angeles Dodgers sensation Shohei Ohtani signed. New York will need to make a compelling offer if they hope to prevent him from going to the open market.
