Even though Mamelodi Sundowns won the championship over a month ago and Cape Town Spurs’ relegation was officially announced, there is still a lot of competition in the DStv Premiership season’s final round of games.

With six games remaining, Sundowns swept to a seventh straight title, and they haven’t let up in their pursuit of further historical feats. Sundowns’ current point total of 73 exceeds their effort of 71 in the 2015–16 season, breaking their previous record for points in a 16-team league season. However, they now aim to accomplish a goal that no other team in the PSL history has been able to do.
Masandawana, who have won 22 and drawn seven league games, is attempting to go undefeated for the entire season. Only a few teams worldwide have accomplished this feat, with Arsenal’s “Invincibles” doing it in the 2003–04 campaign.
