As mentioned earlier, one of the highlights of this podcast was when Jokic dove deep into his thoughts on popularity.
“Being famous, some people like it, some people don’t. When I finish my career, I really wish nobody knows me. I really don’t like this life because, at the end of the day, we are just basketball players. We are just good at what we are doing. But the media is something that is around us, and of course, we are getting paid because of the media, because of our popularity.”

A lot of talented NBA players enjoy the spotlight. However, Jokic is different as he is one of the few superstars who openly expressed his negative attitude about being famous.
Even if he is aware that he is paid a substantial amount of money for appearing in the media, a billion dollars won’t make him change his mind about fame.
“Whenever you go to a bar, restaurant, or sporting event, it seems like everyone is trying to record you with their phones. It’s just depressing.” That strikes me as rather, let me say that, impolite. Not that I’m flaunting my identity. I simply am who I am.
