Zach LaVine, the shooting guard for the Chicago Bulls, made his first public remarks to the media today following the team’s announcement that he will miss an extra three to four weeks due to right foot pain.
LaVine disclosed to the media that he had PRP.
“To get back out there, I’ve been attempting to train and engage in active rehab. That didn’t work, according to LaVine. It had a slight—I don’t want to say setback—but it became so painful that trying to play on it all the time didn’t make sense. Take a brief nap. Obtain PRP. That should have some positive effects on it. Maintain your healing efforts and follow up in a week or two to assess your progress.
LaVine is shooting 44.3% from the field, 33.6% from outside the arc, and 86.6% from the free-throw line this season, averaging 21.0 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 3.4 assists. With LaVine in the starting lineup, the Bulls are 5-13.
LaVine stated, “I’ve been attempting to deal with it and get back to 100 percent.” “We’ve tried a variety of approaches to try and restore it to its previous state. It involves using it and then missing a game. It seemed like a few days before I could start walking again. After that, it said, “Okay, let’s give it a little rest.”
After two games or a week, they will pick back up.Actually, I was hoping to play on Wednesday or Friday. However, it did not react well when increased.
The Bulls have won three straight games since LaVine’s injury. Despite hearing the rumors that Chicago is a better team without him, the two-time All-Star won’t let it stop him from being a good teammate.
“Am I still a highly dedicated member of this team? Yes. I’m wearing a Bulls jersey,” LaVine remarked. “Here, I made a commitment. I will continue to love and support Chicago for as long as I live here, and I will give it my all when I play for those men. That will always remain the same. Various narratives and anecdotes will be presented. Additionally, there will be off-court matters that need to be resolved. I’m going to give it my all on the field and keep trying to be the greatest player and teammate I can be for as long as I’m wearing a Bulls jersey. As easy as that.
The Bulls and LaVine are willing to split ways. In July 2022, LaVine agreed to a $215 million, five-year contract with the Bulls. This season, he is earning $40 million.
