In A Play That Seemed Threatening, Draymond Green Grabs Patty Mills By The Throat.

Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green once again got himself entangled with an opposing player during his team’s Tuesday game against the Miami Heat.

Green immediately drew the ire of fans at Kaseya Center in Miami two minutes into the contest. With the scored tied at five, Green appeared to grab Heat guard Patty Mills by the throat.

In an effort to put Bam Adebayo and Stephen Curry in a mismatch, Mills tried to set a pick on Green. Green became quite combative while battling through Mills’ shield.

To their dismay, Green was called for a common foul when the Heat broadcasters had anticipated a flagrant. After reviewing the action, the referees decided that Adebayo’s made shot was the first to occur rather than the foul.

The Heat were defeated by the Warriors 113-92. In the end, Green had five fouls, nine rebounds, eight assists, and four points.

After many in-game altercations earlier this season, Green had already completed a 12-game suspension.

The Warriors star has recently shown considerably more restraint during games. Instead of on the court, social media has become the scene of his most recent outbursts. Maybe the officials were extending some leniency to the Warriors forward who was demonstrating because of their good behavior.

Since the All-Star break, referees have also been far more forgiving when it comes to foul calls. Over the past few weeks, there has been a decline in the NBA’s overall scoring total and the number of free throws issued.
