Before being traded to the LA Clippers, former player Bones Hyland of the Denver Nuggets was well-liked by the community.
Hyland still has a lot of affection for Denver and the Nuggets fan base, despite the fact that things were complex once he dropped out of the starting lineup, which resulted in a messy breakup and his trade to Los Angeles.
During a recent appearance on Michael Porter Jr.’s podcast, Curious Mike, Hyland shared his candid thoughts about Denver and its supporters.
“Speaking of Denver fans, when I was over there, I would check in [to the game] and they went rowdy every time,” Hyland stated. “They enjoyed seeing me perform. It goes without saying that the trade failed, and as a result, everyone despises me. However, it seems to me that they are not truly hostile against me. They were still in love with me. It’s only that I’m no longer there. I still love Denver, though, my friend. They welcomed me with wide arms. Never once would I say, “F Denver.” I will never say that out loud. They welcomed me with wide arms.”
Even though Hyland’s relationship with the Nuggets became complex and ultimately led to his departure, he still has a lot of affection for Denver. Hyland shared his genuine thoughts about the Nuggets, the city, and their supporters with Porter throughout their conversation.
