Former MVP Claims Lamar Jackson Isn’t the NFL’s Face

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson, despite being a two-time MVP and a highly recognizable player, is not considered the face of the NFL, according to former MVP Cam Newton.

Newton explained on his “4th & 1” podcast that Patrick Mahomes holds that title due to his three Super Bowl rings.

Newton emphasized that championship success and marketability are crucial factors in becoming the face of the league. He related Jackson’s situation to his own experience, noting that even after his 2015 MVP win, players like Tom Brady and JJ Watt were more recognized faces of the NFL.

Jackson, however, seems more focused on leading the Ravens to a Super Bowl victory than on his popularity.
