Former Chelsea player is a target for Hammers.

Ex WHU Employee claims that Timo Werner, a former Chelsea player, is much sought after by the Hammers. He says that after losing favor at Stamford Bridge, the player was the focus of conversations in the summer. He is reportedly back on the Irons’ radar now that they are desperate for a striker for the upcoming season. Tim Steidten might be able to convince him that the Irons are the right team for him, but we’ll have to wait and see. After spending two years at Chelsea, where he failed to make an impact, the striker returned to RB Leipzig.

However, from what we understand, the Hammers are planning to try to sign him, and he would dearly love to get back to the Premier League. Other Premier League clubs will undoubtedly express interest, but since Steidten is spearheading negotiations, it’s feasible that a loan stint with the Hammers might demonstrate a lot to us before a permanent deal is decided upon.

Reporting Ex stated: “I didn’t name him at the time, but I linked us pretty heavily to a former Premier League international forward who might be returning to the league at the end of the window.”

Even though I’ve since mentioned his name a few times, I can firmly state that Werner was the player in question. His agent brought him to our attention in the summer since he was having trouble getting started for RB Leipzig in Germany and seemed to be out of favor there.
