Before or during the draft, Aiyuk might be available for the right price, according to 49ers source Matt Barrows of The Athletic.
“The 49ers kept their phone lines open before, and especially during, the draft to see what kind of offers [WR Deebo] Samuel would bring [in 2022],” Barrows stated. “The 49ers refused to budge even after receiving draft-day proposals from the Detroit Lions and New York Jets. Although the offers were good—especially the Jets’—the 49ers would need to be overawed in order to part with Samuel, who was coming off of an amazing 2021 season.
“I think a similar scenario is in play for Aiyuk, who has excellent chemistry with Brock Purdy: The 49ers will listen to offers but it will take something monumental to let him go.”
