Could Paul George Offer Rockets an Opportunity to Acquire an Established Star?

The Houston Rockets see the 2024 offseason as an opportunity to strengthen their team.

According to a source, the Rockets are open to pursuing an established star, such as Paul George, if the chance arises. Marc Stein reports that George is likely to pick up his player option for the 2024-25 season and may force the Los Angeles Clippers to trade him.

Rockets GM Rafael Stone mentioned in April that while he plans to keep the roster largely the same after a 41-41 season, he wouldn’t rule out adding a top talent. Houston could package several players and the No. 3 pick in the 2024 NBA Draft in a potential deal for George. Adding George, who has averaged 20.8 points per game, could help the Rockets achieve playoff success and possibly contend for a championship.
