The most recent free agent to find a new home in the pros is former Alabama defensive lineman Raekwon Davis. Meridian, Mississippi, native Davis agreed to a two-year, $14 million base contract with the Indianapolis Colts.
As Davis’ agent, Trevon Smith of Athletes First, finalized the agreement, ESPN’s Adam Schefter revealed the information on Tuesday. The Miami Dolphins selected Davis, a former four-star in the Crimson Tide’s 2016 signing class, in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft.
In 63 career games, he tallied 129 tackles, 12.5 tackles for loss, and 2.5 sacks.
Davis was a Dolphins player from 2020 to 2024.In addition to having two Southeastern Conference Championship rings from 2016 and 2018, he helped lead the Tide to a College Football Playoff National Championship in 2017. With 69 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, 8.5 sacks (a team high), two quarterback hurries, and an interception in 2017, Davis was a formidable performer for the Crimson Tide.
