One NBA team that has the “look of a champion” is named by Draymond Green.
NBA champion Draymond Green of the Golden State Warriors is no stranger to winning titles. But in the playoffs this year, the Dallas Mavericks appear to be the favorites, at least for the contentious forward.
After a disastrous time with the Brooklyn Nets, Kyrie Irving was dealt to the Mavericks for an All-Star roster spot last season. Sadly, he and Luka Doncic were unable to receive enough playing time together to help Dallas secure a postseason berth. The Mavericks last year ended their season early as a result of this.
But the story this season is very different from the previous one. With ample preparation during the offseason, Irving and Doncic managed to guide Dallas to a postseason berth. With the addition of Daniel Gafford and PJ Washington in a timely manner before to the trade deadline, Dallas might have a team capable of competing for a championship.
This was demonstrated in the opening round when the Mavericks defeated the Los Angeles Clippers, who were led by Paul George and James Harden, two All-Stars. Doncic and company improved their shooting, grabbed more offensive rebounds, and turned the ball over less often in those six games. Additionally, Doncic and Irving demonstrated why rival teams should aggressively prepare for their backcourt tandem.
