Stephen Curry expressed his frustration during the press conference following the Golden State Warriors’ defeat to the Oklahoma City Thunder, saying that the team blew another game.
Against the Thunder, the Warriors had an 18-point lead. Curry’s three-pointer gave them a three-point advantage with less than ten seconds remaining in regulation. But with 7.0 seconds remaining, Thunder rookie Chet Holmgren was fouled by Draymond Green while trying a 3-point shot, and Holmgren made all three of his foul shots from the foul line.
The two-time MVP Curry had a chance to win the game in regulation, but he missed a 3-point shot at the final second. The Thunder outscored the Warriors 20–18 in overtime, and the Warriors ultimately fell short, 138–136.
“Man, I’m not sure,” Curry remarked. Must find a way to put it into action and cease chatting about it. Otherwise, you’ll face the same issues come January 1. I’m a little tired of bringing it up.
Against the Thunder, the Warriors committed 28 turnovers. In addition to Andrew Wiggins’ six turnovers, Green, Klay Thompson, Curry, Jonathan Kuminga, Dario Saric, Brandin Podziemski, Moses Moody, and Kevon Looney each had four, two, and one. One team turnover occurred due to a shot-clock infraction.
According to Warriors head coach Steve Kerr, “it’s a pattern right now.” A year and a half ago, I saw this same group win a championship. They are winners. They’re not playing like it, though. It’s not how I coach. We need to resolve this.
The Warriors’ record for the season is 10–12. According to the Western Conference standings, they are in 11th place. With an average of 29.4 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 4.4 assists this season, Curry leads the Warriors in scoring at a rate of more than 20.0 points per game.
