The Baltimore Ravens aim to start strong against the Los Angeles Rams at M&T Bank Stadium after having a bye.
As the season nears its conclusion, the Ravens are 9-3. Gaining victories is essential if they hope to move up to the No. 1 seed in the AFC, which they currently hold behind the Dolphins.
According to analyst Gregg Rosenthal, the Ravens’ renowned rushing attack will play a major role in their victory over the Rams.
On NFL GameDay View, Rosenthal stated, “This is a tough matchup, they got the extra rest compared to the Rams, I have them winning 30 to 20.” “because the Rams’ run defense is facing their run game.” Without J.K. Dobbins, this running attack is every bit as effective as it was in 2018. They wear the Rams down, in my opinion, after getting that extra sleep.
Rosenthal is not incorrect, based on the rushing statistics. With 162 rushing yards per game, Baltimore leads the NFL. This season, no game has seen fewer than 100 rushing yards (the lowest was 106 against the Browns).
Baltimore could take advantage of the Rams’ 17th-ranked rushing yards allowed per game (111), which puts them in 17th place.
But the Rams’ rush defense has been excellent—really excellent—during their current three-game winning streak. They have tightened up that aspect of their game because they have allowed rushing totals of 68, 73, and 87.
However, the Ravens, who have a number of players who can cut up a defense on the ground, will put that to the test.
In the secondary, Lamar Jackson, Keaton Mitchell, Gus Edwards, and Justice Hill could run amok if Rams defensive coordinator Raheem Morris is unable to control it.
It will take everything from the Rams to stop Baltimore’s obvious run game weapon; if they can’t, the Los Angeles defense may be in for a long day.
