For everyone, 2018 was a simpler year. While Conor McGregor continued to be regarded as a great fighter, Draymond Green was fresh off his third championship victory.
Before his August 2018 boxing battle against Floyd Mayweather, McGregor posted a photo of himself donning a throwback Warriors No. 23 jersey. Draymond was inspired by this to demand Conor to take off the jersey because he rocks with Floyd Mayweather and wears the number 23.
Conversations still center on Conor’s brutal reaction. Following Draymond’s previous aggressive outbursts on the court, supporters responded similarly, stating that McGregor might be the only person who can truly stop Green.

Since their encounter in 2018, both Green and McGregor have lost favor. Since then, McGregor has only triumphed in one mixed martial arts match; following this trash talk, he even lost to Floyd in his boxing encounter. Green is currently serving an indefinite suspension for his violent outbursts on the court, but he did win another championship in 2022.
Was Draymond Green Ever Aware Of Conor McGregor’s Intent?
A lot of people forget about Green’s brutal answer to McGregor, mostly because he insulted Conor in a way that Conor couldn’t handle.

Although many think McGregor was wearing a Jason Richardson Warriors jersey and that he name-dropped C.J. Watson because of Mayweather’s history of domestic abuse, McGregor insists he was wearing a C.J. Watson jersey. After their breakup, Mayweather was accused of domestic abuse after punching his ex-girlfriend Josie Harris in September 2010. One of the reasons for the attack was that she received texts from C.J. Watson on her phone.
It was evident that Draymond was not wearing the No. 23 shirt in Conor’s photo when he was pulled into the fight promotion.
However, the majority of people will identify Green with the number 23, which will eventually be retired from the team. Although it appears that he became involved in anything unrelated to him, he is free to defend the number.
