Tuesday night’s overtime thriller between the Boston Celtics and Golden State Warriors ended with Golden State winning thanks to a strong performance by Steph Curry. Two missed calls that might have been significant if the game had gone in a different way are included in the NBA’s “Last Two Minute Report” for this match.
Following Jayson Tatum’s foul shot at the conclusion of regulation, Golden State got the rebound and Chris Paul attempted to request a timeout. This was the first missed call. Golden State should have been given the timeout, but the NBA found that there would have only been 0.3 seconds left.
“Jackson-Davis (GSW) possesses the rebound and Paul (GSW) signals for a timeout with 0.3 seconds remaining, but it is not recognized by officials,” the NBA stated.
The last missed call occurred during overtime when Jonathan Kuminga was knocked down by Tatum after an inbound pass. The NBA acknowledges that Tatum should have been called for a foul, but nothing was.
