BREAKING NEWS: Joc Pederson Trolls Phillies Fans With Latest Instagram Post

With his latest Instagram post, Joc Pederson—who played for the San Francisco Giants in 2023—had Philadelphia Phillies fans on the edge of their seats.

The left-handed hitter, 31, shared a photo of the Phillies mascot on social media. He even indicated the location as Citizens Bank Park.

Even though Pederson doesn’t appear to be involved with Philadelphia, this could be a sign that something is being considered.

But according to Todd Zolecki of MLB.com, there isn’t. Regarding Pederson’s post, Todd reported the following:

“Joc Pederson isn’t signing with the Phillies just because he shared a funny or cool picture of himself with the Phanatic on Instagram. This offseason, they haven’t even spoken. What a position!”

This is an unusual scenario and one that makes it interesting. Maybe Pederson is hinting to the front office that he wants to settle in Philadelphia. Maybe he was bitter about the Phillies from his time with the Atlanta Braves and wanted to play around with the fan base.

In what was regarded as a down year for him, Joc slashed.235/.348/.416. The power hitter only managed to hit 15 home runs while battling injuries.

If this does come to pass, it could be a good signing for the Phillies. Pederson has shown himself to be a valuable asset to an offense in addition to being a fan favorite.

Pederson has spent the majority of his career playing outfield, so the team does need another outfielder. He’s not a very good defender, though, so he would probably be better as a DH.
