BREAKING NEWS: Giants Activate TE Darren Waller From IR

Darren Waller, a veteran tight end, will be able to play for the New York Giants in their game against the New Orleans Saints as the organization has activated him from injured reserve ahead of the Week 15 deadline.

With a hamstring injury that is distinct from the one that kept him out of several games the previous season with the Raiders, Waller has missed the last five games.

Waller is second on the squad with 36 receptions for 384 receiving yards. Earlier in the week, he expressed optimism that, should he be activated this week, he may provide the Giants with some snaps.

On Thursday, his 21-day practice window opened, and on Thursday and Friday, he was only partially involved.

Bobby McCain, a safety, was cut by the Giants to make room on the roster. Although McCain had been a regular on special teams, he mishandled a punt last week that was a live ball, which allowed the Packers to get the ball.
