BREAKING NEWS: 49ers’ Brock Purdy Smirks While Addressing Colin Cowherd’s Backwards Hat Critique

One question in particular stuck out as 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy answered them Thursday at the team’s Santa Clara, California, facility.

Purdy complimented a couple teammates and the 49ers fan support while providing thoughtful comments about San Francisco’s practice regimen ahead of their game versus the Seahawks. However, he also addressed a recent controversial statement made by FOX Sports analyst Colin Cowherd.

The reporter said in jest, “Brock, do you think you’re representing the organization well right now, standing up there on the podium wearing a backwards hat?”

“Dude, that’s just my personality,” Purdy said. “I believe so.”

Cowherd has consistently maintained his position that quarterbacks for a club shouldn’t have their hats on backwards. He previously said that Purdy’s sideways hat prevents him from being a top quarterback.

When asked if he knew what the question was about, Purdy responded, “Some guys have told me in the locker room and stuff.” “I don’t agree with all of that. My only goal as a quarterback is to win games.

Whether Purdy is wearing his hat forward or backward, whatever he’s doing is effective. With a passer rating of 116.1% and an average yards per completion of 9.6, the second-year quarterback is leading the NFL and continuing his unlikely transformation from Mr. Irrelevant to the 49ers’ long-term quarterback.
