With a 9-3 record, the Baltimore Ravens are presently the top seed in the AFC; however, the Kansas City Chiefs are close behind them in the conference rankings.
The Chiefs would take the top spot in the AFC if they defeated the Green Bay Packers on the road in Week 13.
Former New England Patriots defensive back Jason McCourty and the other members of the “Good Morning Football” panel recently took some time to discuss which of these two teams is the more dangerous one “right now” given that the Chiefs and the Ravens have the top two seeds in the conference.” For several reasons, the former Super Bowl winner took the Ravens side in this dispute.
“When you talk about being dangerous, yes I know [Patrick Mahomes] has done it time after time after time on the biggest stages, but I’m rolling with the Baltimore Ravens right now,” McCourty stated. “I believe Lamar Jackson can make plays on the outside. It hasn’t happened every week, but I believe his weapons, Odell Beckham Jr. and Zay Flowers, to Keaton Mitchell, the young undrafted rookie running back, are what give him some explosiveness in the backfield.”
“And I think on top of it, these are going to be two good defenses, but I just feel really good about this Baltimore Ravens team of where they’re going and how well Lamar has played.”
The Chiefs and Ravens have each experienced success this season on the defensive side of the ball, as McCourty mentioned. In terms of total yards allowed (273.9) and points per game allowed (15.6), the Ravens are currently ranked second in the NFL.
The Ravens and Chiefs will undoubtedly face off in the postseason, and that game would undoubtedly be exciting to watch.
