One item caught our attention when the NBA revealed their all-rookie first and second teams on Monday.
Dereck Lively II of the Mavericks is the lone player remaining from the 10 on the two teams.
That matters more to him than any prize, as he stated on Monday afternoon.
Voters will examine who is garnering the most attention and making the most noise during the regular season, according to Lively. “But I simply want to win, regardless of whether I have 10 points, 10 rebounds, 10 blocks, or zero points, zero rebounds, zero blocks, and zero assists.
“I don’t care if I make the first team or am an all-rookie; none of it matters to me. All I want to do is go out there and win.
Lively was the sixth-leading vote-getter from the media panel, which undoubtedly aided his argument, as did the Mavericks’ 50-game winning streak this season.
“I never thought my season would be like this going into my first season,” he remarked. “I never thought I’d be in this position or achieve this level of achievement. I’m appreciative for it. And all I’m trying to do is concentrate on our future.
