Usually, I would think of calling up players like Addison Barger, Spencer Horwitz, and Orelves Martinez and letting them play. Getting Horwitz into the lineup would be more difficult. It wouldn’t be so difficult to get them on the roster. I apologize, Daniel. You’re granted your freedom. Cavan? I adore you so much. You’re about to get a choice. Although I shouldn’t give up on your season so soon, Ernie, I think you should receive 500 PA this year. However, because of this unique situation, you are also being optioned. I apologize. You are a major league player, in my opinion. Barger and Martinez play 20 to 30 games a day on average.
Vogelbach isn’t doing the job, but it will be more difficult to get Horwitz into the lineup every day. Votto is probably going to win this place in the end, and while I understand that Votto is a popular favorite, I would much rather see Horwitz advance. These transactions, in my opinion, are more of an effort to assess what we have in three prospects than a desperate attempt to salvage this season. Check to see if these guys can eventually join the team. Check to see if we can construct around them and the player we choose to stick with in the present lineup. Votto will not be returning to the team after this season.
