Munster was injured and carried off the field during the Magic Round.
Moments before halftime in Sunday afternoon’s Magic Round matchup between the Parramatta Eels, Cameron Munster was removed off the field.
Munster, who has already missed a few games this season and acknowledged he is still dealing with an issue, looked to have a groin ailment that caused excruciating pain before he was carted off the field. With roughly a minute and forty seconds remaining in the first half, the star five-eighth seemed to initially sustain the injury to either his hip or groin when diving for a loose ball.
After the team trainer gave his okay, he continued playing, trying to play until the halftime break, but he was obviously laboring in defense.
He pulled up again with a noticeable problem when running to make a tackle on the right-hand Eels’ assault. A few plays later, after a six-again call, he was involved in a tackle, but he put weight on his left leg and fell to the ground in excruciating pain. Play would cease almost instantly, leaving Munster in excruciating pain.
Munster was carried off the field almost instantly, and it’s unlikely that he will play any more on Sunday. Although the extent of the problem is unknown, it is quite possible that the five-eighth will now have to miss a substantial amount of time due to injury, and it may have also destroyed his prospects of participating in the State of Origin series.
