Rays And Blue Jays Clash After Jose Caballero Gets Shoved By Genesis Cabrera.

The altercation between Jose Caballero and Genesis Cabrera was the catalyst for Saturday’s scuffle between the Tampa Bay Rays and Toronto Blue Jays.

With a runner on base, two outs, and the Rays ahead 3-1, Caballero was batting in the bottom of the seventh inning. Caballero bunted the ball past Cabrera and toward third base. Caballero advanced to second base after Justin Turner’s throw went up the line after he had fielded the ball. Caballero attempted a third but was tagged out.

Caballero and Cabrera had a brief conversation after Caballero was tagged out. In the end, Cabrera shoved Caballero, causing the benches to move aside.

Caballero scored two runs and went 2-for-3 in the Rays’ 5-1 victory. After the game, he appeared to pin things on Cabrera.

“I’m merely engaging in baseball. “I wish to have no issues with anyone,” Caballero declared. “I didn’t want it to escalate beyond its current state. Regrettably, his perspective was different.

After just three games for both clubs this season, tensions are already building between them.
