The quarterback selected by the Las Vegas Raiders in this draft must be someone who has the ability to significantly alter the team’s future.
However, given the composition of this draft class, they could need to select that player early on.
Three quarterbacks, in my opinion, fit that mold for the Raiders and all three have a good chance of being selected in the first three. Thus, as the fan base has been urging them to do, they would have to trade up in the draft.
And they have done some research on that.According to Tashan Reed of The Athletic, the Raiders have explored moving into the top 5-7 draft picks. However, that still may not be enough to get one of the three top guys.
Not to mention, the Raiders aren’t the only team who needs a quarterback. Their rival in the Denver Broncos just announced they are parting ways with Russell Wilson and will also look to get one.
It will be tough sledding for the Raiders. It certainly doesn’t help that the Patriots are now officially going after a QB as well.
