According to sources, the Boston Red Sox and Cincinnati Reds are still interested in signing Cuban right-hander Yariel Rodríguez, according to Francys Romero’s report on Wednesday.
Although Rodríguez would be considered a high-upside starter, his floor would be questioned. The 26-year-old would undoubtedly be a dominant reliever on Opening Day if he decides to join the bullpen.

The interesting prospect is anticipated to sign this winter and may choose to spend some time in Triple-A honing his starting skills before making an immediate impact as a reliever. Either way, whichever organization he joins will want to keep an eye on him.
