Even though it has become a tedious routine, this season it is filled with more hope than normal. They have DJ Moore as a dependable wide receiver, Montez Sweat as their edge rusher, and the ability to select a franchise quarterback or elite playmaker in the draft.
The front office is currently locking up its kicker. Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that the Bears have signed Cairo Santos to a four-year, $16 million contract extension, with $9.5 million guaranteed. Having joined the team in 2020, the seasoned player is currently enjoying a successful 2023–24 season.
This season, he has made 27 out of 29 field goals, is perfect from 50 yards or more, and is 24 out of 26 when it comes to extra points. It’s impossible to overestimate the value of having a precise kicker, therefore Chicago’s future success may depend on this dedication.
Naturally, one cannot have exquisite interior design and still manage to have a large opening in the wall of the living room that is visible to everyone. Even though Justin Fields is performing well under his difficult circumstances, an offensive game-changer is desperately needed.
Bears are moving, but they still need to strengthen their core.
