Two weeks ago, DeSean Jackson, a decorated receiver who last played for the Baltimore Ravens, formally retired as a Philadelphia Eagle—or did he?
During his Monday appearance on the Kay Adams podcast, “Up and Adams,” Jackson made hints about a potential comeback to the NFL.
Adams asked, “Do you think you could help this offense? ” in reference to the Kansas City Chiefs’ current offensive struggles. Would you be interested in doing so?” Jackson shot back, asking if the shirt was white. Is the sweater you’re wearing white?
Jackson added that he is in regular contact with his former Philadelphia coach, Andy Reid, the current coach of the Chiefs.
Jackson, a 2008 second-round selection out of Cal, will be most known for his two seasons as an Eagles player.
Jackson played for the Eagles for a portion of eight seasons, catching 379 passes for 6,512 yards and 35 touchdowns. He also played for the Washington team, the Baltimore Ravens, the Tampa Bay Bucs, the Los Angeles Rams, and the Las Vegas Raiders.
The native of Los Angeles played one season with the Las Vegas Raiders before joining the Ravens in 2022. In seven games while in Baltimore, Jackson caught nine passes on 17 targets for 153 yards.
Although Jackson is unlikely to be inducted into the Hall of Fame, he is among the NFL’s best deep threats ever. With 641 catches for 11,263 receiving yards and an average of 17.6 yards per reception, Jackson will conclude his career with enough receiving yards to rank 37th in the NFL’s all-time receiving yards list, just between the still-active DeAndre Hopkins and Chad Johnson.
