JUST NOW: Ravens hero awarded for walk-off winner vs. Rams

Tylan Wallace, a wide receiver for the Ravens and their special team ace, made one of the most unlikely returns of the season:

And for his efforts, he just received a tremendous honor:

AFC Special Teams Player of the Week

It was only the fourth time in league history that a game ended on a walk-off punt return for a touchdown in overtime; ironically, it was the second of the year, as rookie WR Xavier Gipson returned one of his own for the Jets back in September. Nevertheless, Wallace made the most of his opportunity following an injury to Ravens starting punt returner Devin Duverney and a decision by John Harbaugh to keep Zay Flowers fresh for the offense. Wallace has only played in seven games this year and has yet to record a reception as a wide receiver.

We’ll see if Wallace can maintain this level of performance as he has now earned the position moving forward and has some metal to recall what will probably be his final performance of his career.
