Ahead of Borussia Dortmund’s upcoming match against FC St. Pauli on October 18, 2024, coach Nuri Şahin shared concerns over the squad’s fitness, particularly focusing on Gio Reyna’s situation. Reyna, who has been dealing with a groin injury, is still not fully recovered and is expected to miss the game. Despite hopes that he could return soon after the international break, Şahin confirmed that Reyna’s recovery has been slower than anticipated, keeping him sidelined until late November.

The coach is also dealing with injuries to other key players, including Karim Adeyemi, who is also out due to a hamstring injury sustained earlier in October. This has forced Dortmund to make tactical adjustments, and Şahin will likely rely on other attacking options like Julian Brandt, who has been in good form recently, to fill the gap.

St. Pauli, who are struggling near the bottom of the table, will face a determined Dortmund side at Signal Iduna Park, though they have been winless in five of their last six games. The team will need a strong performance to keep pace in the Bundesliga, especially with key players missing.
